Located downriver from downtown Lynchburg in the Lower Basin, below White Rock Hill, Heald's Bark Mill was in operation from 1896-1936. Later, this property became the site of the Paper Mill and Mead Corporation. The Island Yard, later named Percival's Island, is in the background. An undated postcard image. The paper mill is currently Rock-Tenn. The picture is undated.
