An undated photograph of Lynch's Warehouse building (1785-1978) on the northeast corner of Eighth and Commerce Streets. John P. Hughes Motor Co., Inc., one of the earliest franchised Dodge dealers in the nation, occupied this building from the inception of the firm in 1915 until the mid-1970's when operations were relocated to a new facility in Madison Heights. The building on the right and still standing, was the George D. Witt building and known as Craddock-Terry Shoe company Warehouse #2. It is now the Home of the City's Social Services Department. The Hughes building was subsequently demolished and the space used as a parking lot.
