Ninth Street Bridge (00591)
This an image of the stone piers to the old Ninth Street Bridge. The photograph was from Lynchburg looking across the James River into Madison Heights. On the hill in the background, there is a house and next to the house is a billboard reading "TURN ON YOUR RADIO WDMS 1320 GIVE THE UNITED WAY." Just on the other side of the river, there is Smiley Block Company Incorporated, a concrete and cinder block manufacturer. The pier is currently the base for the Langley Fountain. There are several people fishing in the foreground.
